The Travel Channel Selects Partner
Concepts to
Launch Awareness Program in the Travel Industry
April 2007
The Travel Channel has selected Partner Concepts to launch a broad
awareness enhancing marketing program within the travel industry.
During the past year, The Travel Channel has successfully undertaken a
dramatic course to redefine itself as an integrated media business that
goes beyond network television to include the Internet, video-on-demand,
mobile platforms and user-generated content. For the most part, the travel
industry (destinations, airlines, hotel companies, tour operators, travel
agents, and attractions, among others) is unaware of these developments
and the Travel Channel’s new vision.
"Our
job is to put the Travel Channel on the travel industry’s
map with a big gold star," said Paul Cohen, president
of Partner Concepts. "With their exciting new
mix of compelling travel programming, mobile technologies,
and expanded online capabilities, the Travel Channel
is a must-visit media destination for anyone who possesses
a passion for travel."
"The
vision here is a 360-degree approach to describing
and facilitating the most rewarding experiences of
travel," said Patrick Lafferty, chief marketing
officer for the Travel Channel. "We have been
pursuing an aggressive and wide-ranging strategy to
realize that vision, and this is another step in the
process. We could not be more enthusiastic about sharing
this vision with the many great leaders in the travel
industry, and we look forward to Partner Concepts'
guidance in showing us the way."
Immediate plans include speaking engagements and visibility at trade shows,
destination promotions, industry roundtable discussions, and much more.

creates content that appeals to the traveler in all of us. The Travel
Channel features a variety of series that showcase seasoned travelers

Discovery acquired Antenna Audio, the global leader in audio tours and
